Outages improving week after winter storms blast East Tennessee
News

(WBIR) Many East Tennessee residents are still without power -- though that number is slowly decreasing.

Volunteer Energy reported Sunday evening that 1,547 homes are currently experiencing outages, with the majority coming from Cumberland County. This number is down from Saturday morning's 4,564.

The outages occurred in relation to last week's winter weather, which saw inches of snow and ice coating the area, causing accidents and fallen trees.

Here are the outage numbers broken down by county as of Saturday night: Cumberland - 1,059; Fentress - 12; Overton - 134; Putnam - 122; White - 218.

Crews will continue to work until all power is restored. They thank East Tennesseans for their kind words and patience.
