Man arrested after kidnapped woman found safe

(WBIR) A woman kidnapped at gunpoint from a Crossville home earlier this week has been located, and the man who took her is now behind bars, according to Cumberland County officials.

Sheriff Casey Cox said authorities found the victim and Douglas Davis at a truck stop off of I-65 in Elizabethtown, Kentucky.

Authorities said Davis kidnapped the woman at gunpoint Thursday evening in Cumberland County.

On Friday night, Kentucky State Police found the vehicle Davis stole during the abduction. It was abandoned in a bean field near Fort Knox, Kentucky.

While processing the vehicle, Kentucky State Police and Cumberland County investigators obtained information about the pair's possible location at the truck stop.

The victim was taken to the hospital for evaluation and has been reunited with her family.

Davis is being held in Hardin County, Kentucky on multiple charges. When he's brought back to Cumberland County the Sheriff said Davis will face charges of aggravated kidnapping, aggravated robbery, rape, theft of property.
